yes I think it too, but I think it is a way to keep the material that you can download from this site more rare!

It also keeps prying eyes from the stuff, keeping it safe from removal

I think it's actually a pretty effective way to keep people to interact with one another. Since the rules are you have to have a certain ammount of GOOD posts, people are more likely to respon more to threads, thus helping everyone out.
