Could use some help getting a game posted here onto my Ipod touch.
I've tried a few threads here that listed some iPod touch games. I downloaded them and double clicked the .ipa file of one, as instructed in the readme. In iTunes, the game is listed in my library of applications, but when I go to sync it to my iPod touch, i get a message saying it could not be installed due to an unknown error. This happens for every game I download and try. What am I doing wrong? I'm using a brand new, 3rd generation iPod touch. Could that be the problem?
Thanks.

Have you used used Win0wn to unlock the touch, unless its JailBreaked and unlocked you cant just copy games and hope to play them the DRM will prevent you from doing so.

Ran into another problem. I don't currently have wifi access here while jailbreaking. So when the iPod reboots and I run blackra1n, all I get is a message saying "Check your internet connection" instead of the option to dl/install Cydia/Rock/Icy. Is there a way to download either of these onto my PC first and then transfer to the iPod? Google searches haven't been too helpful.
Thanks.

My understanding is that the flaw requires a net con, if you had the files, you could do some wifi adhoc to a pc, and then use faked host entries to BS the dns.
But the easier option would be go to the nearest net cafe and just do the jail break.
It only has to be done once.

Got it. I could make a trip down the road to the new local McDonalds that has wifi. Although, I've read on the Gore that for the new 3G iPod touches, you have to do a tethered jailbreak, meaning every time I power down the device, I'd have to redo the whole blackra1n/Cydia thing when I turn it back on, and every time thereafter.
I'm guessing I'll just have to eventually bite the bullet and spring for a wireless router here at home if I really want a jb'd ipod.
Thanks for the help.

Well the only reason I haven't yet gone wireless is because I really don't know that much about it. I was looking at a couple NetGear routers at Walmart the other day, but I guess there are 3 "grades" of them, each one cheaper, though seemingly more powerful, than the other. I'm not sure which one I should get, I think they were 1N, 1N+, and something else maybe? I'd rather just go with the cheapest one (around $40) if I can get away with it...just so I'd have a decent connection in any room of my house.

ddwrt is custom firmware for your router it works on most routers now.
basically it gives you access to more features than your router manufacturer would like you to have access to
I have four of them because 3 of them are setup as relayers

Ok. I got the router installed and running. Everything's working great. The iPod is jailbroken and I have Cydia and Rock on it. I've taken a look around and browsed some packages. But I'm still confused as to how to transfer a game from my hdd onto the iPod. I take it I don't use the Sync function through iTunes anymore.
