I'm trying to write MULTIPLE downloaded movies to a single DVD and I ain't getting far.
I can convert them to DVD format so as they are around 1.4gb (so I can get 3 on a 4.7gb DVD) but when I try to write them it will only allow 1 movie on the disk.
I've tried converting them to SVCD but Nero7 won't allow SVCDs bigger than CD size.
When I put them on a DVD as MPEGs they'll play on my DVD player but not my friends...


ANY advice you can give would be a great help as I'm out of ideas.

I'm bouncing this back up (sorry ) 'cause I still ain't getting anywhere.
It seems that all the programs I try have the option of making a menu to select different movies (or chapters?) but I'm still only getting one DVD to a disk.

It's pissing me off

I dont know what programs you have used but i have downloaded TV series and using (VSO ConvertXtoDvd) converter i have had no trouble with getting 5or6 diffrent shows on the one DVD just have to add all the movies in before you start to convert and check the settings amke sure the Target Size in the encoding option is (DVD-5) it converts than burns.

Thanks for being the only reply .. I'm using WinAVI and Magic Video Converter. Been trying for about a week and I think I've got it sorted. I'm working on a fancy menu for the movie selection and I'll try it out.

You're the only person that answered this and I think that's a real shame because if everybody helped out and turned this site into a community, rather than a "website you can find free films and programs on" we would ALL benefit.

try useing dvd santa it will let you put 3 movies on a dvd

You mentioned nero, and its true it only likes 1 film, however nerovision part of the wider package is my choice for simplicity , has several menu templates, allows animated menus, and alters quality depending on how many movies/episodes you attempt to use

Use WinAVI Video Converter ...just do a batch convert.....you will get two and sometimes three on a 4.5 disk.....Mal....

I always use (VSO ConvertXtoDvd) for the movies I download. I get 2 movies on a dvd with good quality and it works great. If I rip a dvd myself, I use dvd shrink and just rip it and burn on one dvd. Then I use Nero to burn them either way.

Maybe Ashampoo burning software might help you, not sure, but you can try.

I feel the same way so i'm going to help you out i've bought this on the web so it is mine.
I use cucusoft pro converter its great put all your files on before you convert to dvd it also coverts vcd,dvd,svcd,mpeg1,mpeg2 either way it will fill the first dvd then ask for the second one and so on i have got 4 avi file movies on one dvd check it out on the web first to get a feel for it i have to say it the best one ive ever used and it only takes 20 minutes to convert and burn and it does it all in one step you just put your dvd disk in the drive and walk away it will eject when done here the goodies.

Taking into consideration the thousands of hours required to burn and convert isn't it simpler to just buy a DivX player, put 6 avi files on a disk and simply play it ! I bought mine on ebay for 25 GBP!
