Anyone know how come sometimes when I download a file with Rar extension, IDM will automatically switch it to download as a html file?? I've checked all options and I don't see where I could cange anything to make keep rar files as rar files but no luck. Any help would be appreciated! Or if theres a better download manager out there, let me know . Much thanx!!

well it depends on if the links good or not. try opening the link with ur browser first and see if it works. 2ndly i recommend getting flashgot it actually works really good with idm and imo idm is the best and only one i use now. if u check the link and u still get a problem with idm use the flashgot it will make it work. also make sure ur not past ur download limit. i use rapidshare so im not to sure how any of the others work but flashgot is the best program to combine the files with a download manager well hope this helps

Some files hosting sites does not support any download manager.

for eg. if u are trying to download from easy share you won't be able to download with IDM in any case.

That's why always keep your one browser free from any download manager , i mean direct download for diffcult to download files.

use flashgot its a firefox addon you can integrate it with many download managers just try it

Firefox is very bad at total standards compliance. not to mention buggy on x64 architecture, FF addons are also a major security whole with a number of new FF vuln generation viruses 91 released this year alone.

Because FF takes its addon model from the old Opera Grease monkey model (which opera abandoned for security reasons.)
