Windows 7 no sound... :(

So i just installed win7 ultimate (32 bit) on my main pc and my sound doesnt work.

I have a soundblaster audigy se and I cant get it to work in 7. The drivers off creatives page doesnt work.. like it installs fine but after the restart nothing changes

Does anyone else out there have this problem or know a way to get my sound to work?!?

Hi,

Yes, all you have to do is run windows update

Or use search for drivers online.

first off i tried windows update

and it only had two updates (wtf?) that didnt do anything it was like windows defender

I found the drivers online already they just dont work. They install fine and everything but there is still no souund

and i figured 32 bit would have better compatibility with my drivers....

this is so frustrating >:0 im not even getting any error messages so i dont know what to look up

the driverss I downloaded are
Creative Sound Blaster audio driver 1.04.0090 which are barely a month old....

Month old for an IS that only retails to the public in october - I think would be the problem.

Ohh and got to services and stop defender and disable it from starting. It kills activators.

wow that would suck, did u try checking ur speakers? u never know could of some how blew i dont think they did but u just never know, u can possibly check there web site and contact them for support

i know for a fact my speakers are intact because i reverted to my xp image and my speakers are functioning.

as for contacting the manufacturer creative uses email which i have sent still no reply.......

Drivers will turn up and do the whole windows update driver check thing, if it fails it will let you request drivers from ms.

Thats easy, use your mother boards onboard sound instead of the extra sound card.

Most mobos support Digital 8.1 these days or optical out, so the quality is better than the old Audigies on some mobos.
