is there anyway to modify any of the ps3 game saves? or is there any homebrew cheat devices for games? thanks in advance

Because every publisher has the option to use a different encryption key, there will never be a default product for or program for doing it as the data streams will never be consitant, and every manufacturer can choose to store their data in different ways.

You will find editors for specific games as the save files are decrypted. Last I saw there were maybe 5 games that had working editors

There are a number of very good technical reasons why its not possible to do this in one application, I wont bore you with the details.

oh and the 5 games that can be edited pretty much only let you change the icon, the sound and the save name and date.

Fifa is the only big exception they store some data in the ini file which is not protected and can be edited using a normal hex editor or text editor.

Basically what you are looking for is never going to happen.

thanks a lot, but i dont see the difference from a x-box 360 game save from a ps3 game save. people modify the x-box 360 game save files all the time. only difference is the encryption ps3 has for cod 5 that i know of i never tried opening any other game save besides this one. but im sure there has to be some way to modify the game save like they do on x-box unless the game saves r encrypted.

Well all ps3 games are encrypted and checksummed.

Where as xbox games on non hacked firmware, the only thing you have to get around is signing your game for live - and the key to that is universal.

Because online play for money is common and cheating is more common. It makes sony more money to be able to offer less easy to hack systems, makes them more attractive for use by big brands in competitions.

But I think the most obvious answer is because CHEATING is considered a bad thing...

i really cant believe no ones got passed ps3 encryption then, with all these hackers and programmers no ones gotten passed it is amazing.

Well beating encyption just depends on where it resides, in the PS3 most of the encryption stuff was embedded in the CPU it self, so no way to get get a peek at it.

So it means using cracking - the problem is the bigger the key the longer the crack - and sony's master key is rumoured to be 5 megs - somewhere in the 120 year mark.
