Exclusively on: Nintendo DS
ESRB: E for Suitable for Persons Ages Six and Older

Review:
After experiencing Mario Kart DS, it's hard to imagine how Nintendo's going to improve on what they've done for this stunning portable rendition. There's so much gameplay and depth in this design, moreso than the series has ever had in the past. It's an amazingly addictive racer both in single and multiplayer modes, and even with the limitations of the online functions, it's impossible to avoid becoming addicted to the long distance Mario Kart match-ups. The only way to finish this review is just to say it: this is the greatest Mario Kart game ever developed, and is without a doubt the best DS...

Mario Kart DS Unlock Starry Names

Mario Kart DS Unlockable: Alternate Ending Screen
You must complete all the classes with gold trophies on all cups, which includes mirror mode.

Mario Kart DS Hint: Blue Shell Block
First place racers can shoot a bomb backwards just before a blue shell hits to stop it from scoring a hit.

Mario Kart DS Hint: Burst Start
Hold A just after the two begins to disappear for an advantageous start.

Mario Kart DS Hint: Last Place Item Trick

This is a strange maneuver but worthwhile to try. When you start any given race, allow yourself to fall into last place. Then, grab an item. Because of your last place status, the game will give you an exponentially higher probability of grabbing a great item (like a Star, Bullet Bill, et cetera). Then, work your way past the last place players until you’re in third or fourth place and use your good item to make your way towards first place.

GRID

Genre: Racing
Publisher: Codemasters
Developer: Firebrand Games
Online Play: 4 Versus
Local Play: 4 Versus
Release Date: August 05, 2008
MSRP: $29.99
Also on: X360, PS3, PC
ESRB: E

Review:
I’ll admit that I’m more a fan of the arcade-style racing games than those that put heavier focus on realism, so I’m much more looking forward to Firebrand Games’ next racing project: Trackmania DS. But GRID is still an impressive effort that has a lot going for it, and it’s a slight improvement over last year’s already impressive Race Driver: Create and Race experience. GRID is best played on the console, but the DS game offers up its own unique take on the core racing design, enough that it’s definitely worth a look.

Thumbs up Asphalt - Urban GT

Asphalt - Urban GT

Genre: Racing
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Gameloft
Release Date: November 21, 2004
Also on: NNG, Cell
ESRB: E for Suitable for Persons Ages Six and Older

Review:
As a developer with a strong background in mobile games, Gameloft knows how to make games that work well on the small screen. The studio's new street racer, Asphalt: Urban GT, showcases this ability quite well. It's a pretty derivative game, lifting elements from Colin McRae, Need for Speed Underground, and Burnout, but most of what it borrows is good and generally the game plays pretty well. Asphalt: Urban GT is quite obviously a game that was not designed with the DS specifically in mind, and it doesn't try to shoehorn in dual-screen or touch-sensitive elements where they're not necessary. This game is simply a fun little racer, and one of the best-looking DS launch titles to boot.

It doesn't really take great advantage of many of the features that make the DS unique, but Asphalt is still fundamentally an enjoyable arcade-style racer, regardless of the platform. The gameplay is fast and accessible, and there's enough variety in both the single- and multiplayer modes that you could spend a lot of time with the game.

Need for Speed Nitro

Genre: Racing
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer/Co-Developer: Firebrand Games / EA Montreal
Release Date: November 03, 2009
Also on: Wii
ESRB: E10+

Review:
Need for Speed: Nitro is EA's attempt to transform their popular racing franchise into something more immediate and accessible for less experienced driving fans. Built exclusively for the Wii and DS, the game has a heavy arcade focus mixed with plenty of customisation options and a quirky design concept. The DS version packs in plenty of races, a relaxed control system and character-filled tracks, but the lack of variety in the game modes stops this from being a winner.

Fortunately, there's enough good action in Need for Speed: Nitro that you can overlook the game's shortcomings, at least for a while. Sure, there's not much variety, the music leaves something to be desired and the graphics can get a bit rough, but the gameplay itself offers a good sense of speed, plenty of character, and, more importantly, it's fun.

Default Racing nintendo DS games

The Wii, I am in love with most of the games the Wii has. Like Brawl and Galaxy. Its newkind of, or at least ONE of the newest Nintendo consoles although, a console being new does not make it the greatest. The Wii Im pretty sure is the first Nintendo Console to have Wi-Fi compatibilities where you can talk and play with people online.
