Plot Outline:
New Year's Eve 1999: Anything is possible. Nothing is forbidden.
Los Angelas is a war zone, and ex-vice cop Lenny Nero(Ralph Fiennes), is a loser who deals in VR clips - captured straight from the cerebral cortex -who uncovers that some things are not as they should be. Lenny keeps trying to protect old girlfriend Faith(Juliette Lewis), a punk-rock singer, from her manager - and current boyfriend - the shady Philo Gant(Michael Wincott). When Lenny's hooker friend is brutally murdered, the killer records his rape-kill and sends it to Lenny, who shows it to his friend Max(Tom Sizemore), another ex-cop who is now a private detective. From Max he is warned that there will be little help from the police, who are now mostly made up of a "death squad" - police officers fed up with the public & the media tying their hands & at the same time criticizing them because crime has grown totaly out of control. So with the help of his best friend Macey(Angela Bassett), Lenny must figure out who killed her, protect Faith, and come to terms with his life...before the new millenium -- when history ends, and begins again.
