Frogger v1.0 for iPhone

80's are back... lol

Have been screaming about the collapse of amphibian populations worldwide recently, an alarming trend that has resulted from rising temperatures in the tropics. Heat, it would appear, is killing our precious frogs and salamanders at a distressing rate. How ironic that Konami's Frogger would so aptly mirror this sad phenomenon. Hoping to capitalize on the hottest handheld around, Frogger ends up collapsing under the spotlight.

The goal in Frogger is simple: guide five frogs through streets and streams littered with obstacles to reach a clearing. You start off at the bottom of the screen, moving your amphibian avatars hop-by-hop towards the safe zone at the top. A level is complete only when you've moved all five frogs into the five spaces at the top of the screen

SlotZ v1.0 for iPhone

Is a racing game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Unlike most of the racing games we’ve had a chance to play, this one takes place with track cars similar to the toys we use to play with.

The game has two parts to it: racing and track creation. You can race your car around the track in either single player or multiplayer mode. Depending on which mode you select, there will be 1-4 buttons around the screen for you to press to increase the speed of your car

Star Wars The Force Unleashed for iPhone

Force Unleashed really is a pretty game. Crystal clear 2D backdrops give the levels a lot of pizzazz despite that they are, you know, 2D. And lightsabers glow properly on the screen.

But where we'd hoped to run around and slice our foes with laser swords, the mechanics never gave us a chance. Much like the classic PC series Rebel Assault, you don't actually move your character through rooms. Instead, you reflect your foes' laser shots with properly timed/angled swipes of the finger and activating force powers (like throwing baddies or electrocuting them) by drawing out symbols on the screen

Fast and Furious : Pink Slip for iPhone

Featuring a whopping 32 different cars for you to win across the 32 races, you've also got four game modes to keep things interesting. These include drift racing (much like the Toyky Drift game), police chases and drag racing.

For those unfamiliar with it, this latter mode requires you to take control of the gears and turbo boost rather than steering. Punching the gearbox and nitro at just the right moments to maximise acceleration and control turns Pink Slip into more of a rhythm game than a racer, and it'll be interesting to see how this concept pans out on iPhone

Monopoly v1.3 for iPhone

SimCity for iPhone

The conversion is said to be nearly complete, and most closely resemble the third game in the series -- SimCity 3000 -- in terms of play and appearance. As usual for iPhone ports, the interface has been revised to more closely exploit multi-touch capabilities. Users should for instance have access to new touch controls for zoning, and zooming in and out of a particular area.

Payback v1.02 for iPhone

The Grand Theft Auto series, which was originally released for the Playstation and PC back in 1997, is one of the most popular action / role-playing franchises of all time. Along with the console and PC releases, Gameboy and PSP versions of the game have given mobile gamers the opportunity to carjack and pillage on the go (with a Nintendo DS release set to debut in March). And, while we haven’t heard that Rockstar Games has plans to bring GTA to Apple’s mobile platform, tonight mobile gamers are getting the next best thing.

Or perhaps…a better thing?

Apex Designs has just (re)released Payback [App Store] for the iPhone and iPod touch. And in the original author’s words, “every effort has been made to ensure that Payback beats GTA in every way.”

Payback features dozens of vehicles and 11 cities to explore. The player starts off each city on-foot and must get to a payphone to receive mission details. At first, the player’s only weapons are his fists, but crates scattered about the cities contain shotguns, grenades and other weapons that aid significantly in wreaking various flavors of havoc upon the cities’ inhabitants
